The Marnie Culottes are a very flattering high waisted, low crotch, wide leg design and are based on an original 1930s pair. There are two leg lengths for this pattern. Personally I like the shorter for summer with sandals and the longer length in the winter with boots. Though that is the joy of making your own. You choose what works for you.

They can be made in a variety of fabrics. For Autumn/Winter we chose British lambs wool, gabardine wool suiting and denim. For Spring/Summer we went with a chambray, needlecord and a linen/rayon mix. They also look great in a drapey viscose. The culottes are fastened at the side with an invisible zip. The waist- band closes with an internal button tab with button and a buttonhole. Finished with added optional top stitching, patch pockets and belt loops.

You are purchasing a printed copy which includes your pattern printed on 2 x A0 quality paper and a full colour instruction booklet with photographs. This will be inside an A4 cardboard envelope and shipped to you in compostable packaging Royal Mail 1st class signed for. If you prefer a PDF copy you can download this on my from my Etsy shop

The patterns 2 leg lengths are:
Length 1 is a finished length of 70cm which falls below the knee for a summery split-skirt look
Length 2 is a finished length of 84cm which falls at the lower/mid calf.

If your chosen fabric is at least 45”/110cm wide you will need 3 metres for all sizes If your chosen fabric is at least 60”/150cm wide you will need 2.5 metres for all sizes See cutting diagrams for guidance to fit all pattern pieces into this amount of fabric.

This voluminous style requires a medium weight woven fabric which presses well and has good drape.
Recommended fabrics: Linen, cotton twill, needle cord, lightweight denim, viscose twill, suiting weight wool, chambray. sateen, crepe.
Choose a matching weight interfacing to complement your fabric.
